Jama had a role in the recent Squamish Youth Theatre production of Willy Wonka Jr. They rehearsed 9 hours a week for months, and then put on 8 full performances.

They did dance numbers, lots of singing (it's a musical) and learned to work together as a team both onstage and backstage. The kids helped each other by singing in the wings, adding sound effects, moving set pieces, adjusting costumes. The director herself was only 17 years old and the oldest of the crew.

The result was a very entertaining musical with some beautiful scenes. Jama played the part of Phineous Trout, the reporter who announced all the golden ticket winners. Here's a great picture from our local paper of her and the cast.
